What is the least amount of Ram Vista can run on?
I have about 504 MB of RAM and I was wondering if I would need to upgrade if I wanted to run Vista. So could someone tell if my system would be able to run Vista smoothly?

- It will barely run on 512
- Oh lord no. It runs terribly even with 1GB. You might say "oh it'll be alright". NO. Stop thinking, now. You need at least 2GB of RAM for it to be worth using.
- vista basic minimum ran is 512 megs, all other versions is 1 gig of ram. smooth performance you need at least 2 gigs of rams
- hp had made some systems run on 384 megs.
- You have 512 meg installed. The onboard graphics card is taking the rest of it. You need to get a newer graphics card and more RAM
- I would definitely recommend that you upgrade your memory before attempting to run Windows Vista. While the minimum operating requirements for Vista are * 800 MHz processor and 512 MB of system memory * 20 GB hard drive with at least 15 GB of available space * Support for Super VGA graphics * CD-ROM drive I wouldn't advise you attempt under any circumstance to run Vista with that amount of RAM.
- 2 is minumum but buy what you can afford -------- Memory may be a 1/3 of a new PC depending on what type you need .... You may want to look into a New Desktop or Laptop for a bit more money & get yourself Windows 7 I recommend it over Vista!!!!!!!!!!!!!
- it takes almost 1 Gig for vista to even run itself. Your system would not run vista stick with XP.
